The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, in Galicia, is the final destination of the Camino de Santiago, one of the oldest and most celebrated pilgrimages in the world, undertaken since the 9th century. Feast of the Apostle 2026: The Botafumeiro Soars Through Santiago Cathedral on July 25

On July 25, 2026, the Feast of Saint James and Galicia’s National Day, the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela celebrates the Solemn Mass with the iconic Botafumeiro — a 53 kg censer that travels through the cathedral’s transept in 65-meter arcs.
