Peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower in August 2026 with Dark Skies
On the night of August 12 to 13, 2026, the Perseid meteor shower will reach its peak, illuminating the dark skies favored by the new moon. Mount Shasta, with its elevation and low light pollution, will be a privileged place to witness up to 100 meteors per hour. This display results from debris left behind by Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle.
